- It maintains the historic characterstics of the Merritt Parkway to the maximum extent possible.
- The new bridges at Main Avenue and Perry Avenue will be built to a style and standard consistent with the original bridges built on the Parkway.
- The ramps to and from the Parkway will not be lit.
- There will be only minor or relatively comparable impacts to wetlands.
- There will be much less disruption to the Norwalk River.
- It provides full and greatly improved traffic movements at both intersections.
- It will be quicker and easier to construct.
- It will require significantly fewer highway bridges.
- It will require less and shorter lengths of ramps.
- It will be significantly less expensive to build ($30 - $50 million per CT DOT estimates).
- It will be less disruptive to traffic and businesses in the area during construction.
- The Conservancy will be consulted on, and participate in, the design of the center median, shoulder treatment, landscaping and overall aesthics of the final Parkway design.

meeting or by writing a letter in support of that option.
